Mornington Estate is our regional focus brand. Produced to match with food or be enjoyed on their own these wines showcase the varieties that do best on the Mornington Peninsula. The Mornington Peninsula is known for its ability to ripen both Shiraz and Viognier. The Shiraz and Viognier are co-fermented in large open vats with punch downs occurring daily. Following ferment the wine has a short time on skins to build tannin. It is then pressed into a combination of new and recent use French oak barriques to develop for around 15 months. Dark fruits (blackberry, plums) jump from the glass backed by savoury characters and firm tannins. Long clean finish. Enjoy with rich beef dishes such as beef stroganoff or serve with lamb shanks.
