The course is conducted by Peter Mitchell with support from Andrew Raiz winemaker, viticulturist and Darius Cheesman. In association with Dromana Estate we are offering the opportunity for enthusiasts to practically study Pinot Noir in the hands on environment of a specifically isolated block at the Dromana Estate vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula.
The winemaking facilities at Dromana Estate are excellent and enable us to make our wine in small individual batches as well as a group wine aged in a French oak barrel. So no excuses when it comes to making your award winning wines which you get to keep, effectively paying for the course.
The ten session course, now into its 18th year, provides wine lovers the chance to manage a row of Pinot Noir vines over a twelve month period. It incorporates aspects of vineyard and winery management and wine making, from pruning to bottling your finished wine, you are fully involved
Each session is conducted either in the vineyard or winery on a Sunday from 10am to 1pm (some go longer) and is followed by a one hour tutored tasting of Pinot Noir conducted by Peter or Darius.
